Video Synopsis
On the 16th of September 2023, four different sex educators came together to have a conversation about sex and intimacy in the Muslim community. Specifically, we set out to outline the mismatch we observe between what we understand from Islamic teachings pertaining to sexual intimacy and what we actually observe happening in Muslim marriages. This video is a recording of that conversation where the discrepancy between Islamic sexual ideals and Muslim sexual realities was analysed and addressed with specific reference to issues like common sexual complaints, pornography, vaginismus, gender perception gap, abuse of sexual hadiths, consummation issues and more.
